In this series of posts, we will highlight the most exquisitely fascinating artworks and inspiring images crafted by one of the most talented artist from the design community.
Theo Aartsma, a designer and illustrator based from the northern parts of Holland, is our featured artist of the day. He first came in contact with design and illustration while he was into the creation of dance music and needed promotional material. This in time lead to a passion for web design. He choose to study communication & multimedia design and after he got his bachelor degree in 2006, he started working for one of the Holland’s biggest web design agencies.
During the time Theo worked as a corporate designer he slowly regained his passion for illustration and graphics and did some freelance work under the alias Sumeco. After 4 years of working as a webdesigner he decided it was time to follow his passion completely and he went on as a full-time illustrator and graphic designer working for clients Nike, Pall Mall, Toyota and many others.
Theo is mostly autodidact in the field he operates in and his work can best be described as an intricate blend between illustration and design. The main strengths lie in the illustration of typography and style of conception. He uses as much different media as he possibly can, trying to get the best out of each one of them.
Take a look at his work below and tell us your favorite typographic illustrations and artworks.
