Bloggers who are knowledgeable in that field are able to make money online. And because of this trend, there are thousands of bloggers born everyday. But before you able to achieve that position, you must know how to write winning articles which will attract lots of targeted visitors and soon will be transform into revenue.
There are a few basic rules you should follow when you are blogging. Granted, blogging is considered a more casual writing style than more formal articles or papers, but if you want your blog to be taken seriously, you should follow these basic writing rules.

Know your subject and your audience
Most bloggers establish their blogs because they are experts, or at least have a lot of interest and experience in a topic. Casual, uninformed opinions are a dime a dozen, and readers are only going to be attracted to a blog that can inform them. Stick to a subject matter that you can write intelligently about. And put that information in terms that your audience will understand. If you are writing about sound systems, for example, you will be writing very different copy if you are writing for audio experts than you would for someone shopping for their first system.
Let your headline announce what you are going to say.
You need to be clear and specific about the topic, or you will attract the wrong audience and lose them quickly. “Buying a state of the art stereo system” will not attract the readers you want if you are really writing for that fellow who is buying his first stereo. He thinks it is going to be over his head. Title it: “Buying Your First Stereo”.
Use the active instead of the passive voice
You will come across as more of an expert, because you will be using your own true voice. From a technical style point of view, it is also considered the better form of writing. Think about the difference between “Over one million of the XYZ systems were bought by customers” as compared to “Over a million people bought XYZ systems.”
Give your audience what they are looking for
The most successful writers, bloggers or otherwise, have a following because they know what their readers are looking for. Grisham and Patterson sell their books in the millions because they know their audience wants political thrillers. What does your audience want? Product information, political news, celebrity gossip? There are not too many bloggers who can just blog about whatever tickles their fancy today. Find, know and then write for your audience.
Keep it simple
Despite the caveat at the beginning that blog writers have to follow some rules just as other writers do, keep in mind that this is its own special medium, devised to inform or entertain quickly in very few words. Flowery, convoluted sentences do not have a place here. Simple, grammatically and stylistically correct sentences should be your goal.
Blogging is a continuous process. There might no specific techniques that a professional blogger can give to you since the best of it can be found within yourself. It’s just a matter of self-discovery. These tips are some of the basic techniques that every blogger must not forget.
